The Wilderness Beanie is made from our wonderful linen jersey fabric. The edge is turned at 6 cm and stiched in place from the sides and the TAWAST logo is sewn on the front as a finishing detail. The beanie is one size and fits a head with up to ~ 58 cm circumference. Bottom width ~ 25 cm and height ~18 cm.
Note: The organic linen jersey doesn’t act the same as most regular jerseys. It may feel stiffer in the beginning, especially the raw undyed linen “Sand”. You can stretch it to shape if it feels too snug on your head.
Fairly made in the TAWAST studio in Copenhagen by the hands of Milla Tawast
100% Organic Linen, GOTS certified
The flax plant is grown in Normandy, France. The fabric is made in Germany; the linen is spun, knitted then dyed (except for the natural linen jersey "Sand" which is undyed) in the same factory. The fabric is GOTS certified, which means it includes strict environmental and social criteria for operations along the entire supply chain.
The color of the raw linen fiber will vary from season to another depending on the amount of sun, rain etc. when growing the crop. Due to these natural factors the shade might vary a little from batch to batch, especially with the raw undyed linen “Sand”.
Part of the uniqueness of the fabric includes pieces the flax plant fiber showing on the surface, more so on the inside but lightly on the outside too, more visibly the lighter the fabric is.
Use a flexible measuring tape, make sure it lays straight on the body and take the measurements of your bust, waist and hips.
The garment is machine washable. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool water. Hang to dry, do not tumble dry. Press on medium heat with steam to remove wrinkles.
Because this is a natural material, slight shrinkage will occur, which is taken into consideration when making the pattern and sizing.

My name is Milla Tawast and I’m the founder, designer and maker of TAWAST, a slow fashion brand with roots in Finland, and now based in Copenhagen.
Every TAWAST piece goes through my hands from the designing and pattern making to the manufacturing and packaging.
I make every garment to order. That's how I'm also able to make custom alterations to measurements when needed!
