4 years of TAWAST

TAWAST recently turned 4 years! What a journey it has been, 4 years, moving through 4 different studiospaces and 2 different countries too!

TAWAST started in Finland in 2019, when I launched my first collection in summer 2019. The idea for my own brand started in 2018 while I was still in uni studying for my BA in Clothing and Fashion. Working in fashion had always been my dream, but I was becoming increasingly aware of the unsustainable and unethical practices in the fashion industry and didn’t see a future I wanted working in mainstream fashion.

Then the idea to become an entrepreneur and start my own brand came, and it just felt so right I couldn’t wait. Full of enthusiasm I set up the business, designed my first collection and launched within a year. It has been a wild ride, but I truly believe in just starting before you know everything and learning as you go. It certainly hasn’t been easy and still isn’t, but I can’t tell you how glad it makes me to have this thing to call my own.
